■For health care! Thorough explanation of the regulations set for drivers

Since the body is the capital for the driver, health management is more important than other industries. It will be difficult if you repeatedly drive for a long time and cause an accident due to poor physical condition. To prevent this from happening, you will need to have a good understanding of the appropriate working hours for your driver. This article summarizes the rules for protecting the health of drivers and the points to maintain their health.

1 Health management regulations

In this paragraph, we will explain the driver's health management regulations such as continuous driving time, restraint time, rest / holidays, etc.

1-1 Continuous possible operation time

The driver's continuous driving time is 4 hours. In other words, if you continue to drive for more than 4 hours, you should immediately have a break of 30 minutes or more. It is possible to divide the break time into 30 minutes, but if you stop driving within 4 hours, you need at least 10 minutes for each break. You can take three 10-minute breaks during the four-hour period, or you can take two 15-minute breaks. Observe the rules for continuous operating hours and take a break depending on the work situation.

1-2 2days average operating time

As a long-distance driver, it will often be difficult to determine the daily driving time. Therefore, the limit is set by the average operating time for two days. The average driving time for two days is set at 9 hours and the driver cannot exceed this. Also, this does not mean that you can drive for 9 hours in a row, and it is essential to have a break in between.

1-3 Restraint time

The maximum driver restraint time is 13 hours. Depending on the situation, the upper limit can be 16 hours, but detention for more than 15 hours is limited to twice a week. If you drive for a long time, it may take more than 15 hours one way. However, such a response is only possible twice a week. The time is clear for route delivery that runs within a fixed range, but long-distance drivers who do not have to be careful about restraint time.

1-4 Rest / holiday

Rest and holiday are similar words at first glance, but there is a clear difference between them. The rest period is the free time you have before you get to your next job. The rest period is required to be at least 8 hours a day and cannot be divided. It is not possible to take it twice in 4 hours, but it will be given for 8 consecutive hours. Holidays are defined as holidays that are longer than the rest period. Holidays are rested for 24 hours plus the rest period. It is a rule that holidays should not be less than 30 hours under any circumstances.

1-5 Health check

The driver is obliged to undergo a medical examination. First, you will have a medical examination to prove that you are in good health when you are hired. After that, it is a regular health checkup. The content of the regular health checkup should be based on the image of a general health checkup. In addition, if you are engaged in late-night work, a health checkup will be conducted for specific work employees. Keep in mind that this applies to drivers who work late at night.

2 Health management that the driver can do by himself

This paragraph describes how drivers can manage their own health. First is the eating habits. Drivers tend to eat irregularly, and relying solely on the service area can lead to poor nutritional balance. As a countermeasure, drink vegetable juice regularly and be aware of a well-balanced diet on holidays. Good sleep is also essential for maintaining the health of the driver. If you have irregular or insufficient sleep time, you may have "sleep apnea syndrome" that makes you sleepy suddenly while driving. You should also do as much exercise as you can. Especially for long-term drivers, blood circulation tends to get worse, so exercise to prevent it is meaningful.

Follow the rules!

It is common for drivers to be in an accident because of their poor health. Even if you are a veteran driver, it can be quite dangerous to work while you are in poor physical condition. It is important to always be careful about your health care. If you adhere to the regulations and be aware of your own health care, the risk of getting sick will be greatly reduced.
